The overarching goal is that macOS builds should always succeed sans some newly introduced FreeCAD source code bug or Travis infrastructure outage/failure. We designed the macOS builds to be much more robust than what we recently experienced due to these changes so we took the opportunity to do some root cause analysis and make additional investments to raise the bar on the macOS build infrastructure and robustness. Recently, the macOS CI builds started to fail due to the release of Homebrew 1.0 in late September and Travis CI infrastructure changes, the combination of which caused our macOS jobs to routinely timeout or fail.
